Engineering opportunities

Fantastic day in London getting the main themes pro-engineered for a new BBC1 project, to be aired very soon. With 3D balancing, compressing and limiting, the music’s all ready for the final mix next week!

Inspiring Christmas lists!

It’s Christmas Eve, but there are two lists still to complete: for the director and the sound engineer. It’s a fantastic creative experience moulding each cue to picture lock, before stripping the cue ready for the engineer! Coming soon to BBC1.

Angel Studios

A big thank you to all the players, conductor and production team at our orchestral sessions last week. Great to get the new album finished with a real sense of musicianship. Angel is a great venue! #fourseasons @emipm_uk

Latest Doc: Cleopatra’s Lost Tomb

Cleopatra’s Lost Tomb: Sunday 4th October, C4 (Dragonfly Films). There’s a wide range of musical styles here to support a fascinating story! Musical styles range from historical mystery to modern political intrigue, creating with the full symphony orchestra alongside powerful sound creation devices. A great project to be involved with.

Live Orchestra

Exciting times! Now working on the score for our live sessions in Budapest at the end of September. It is wonderful to be writing for real players, with new music for full orchestra. Cues to be used on SKY TV and commercially available worldwide via EMI.

New Cleopatra show

Very exciting to be able to bring my music to the great work of Dr Paul Olding (multi award winning, BAFTA nominated (BEST DIRECTOR), TV and Film Director, Producer and Writer – famous for writing and directing the BBC’s ‘Wonders of the Solar System’ with Brian Cox). In his latest show – ‘Cleopatra’ (Dragonfly Films / C4, 2015) – my […]

Team work!

Really enjoying working with the producers at EMI. I got the brief and wrote the cues. I orchestrated them and programmed up the demos. We listened to them together in London and made notes. I revised the cues, we listened, I revised, we listened again. Bingo! Many minds make light work – when you’re all pulling […]

New production music album released

April saw the latest library music album released. Written primarily for live guitar, these cues are designed for daytime TV, lifestyle TV series and funky adverts. Work on the next album has already begun, featuring full string orchestra in a classical fusion style.

Brilliant sound-to-picture – live!

There we were high up on the listening gallery in Studio One, Abbey Road. Dynamics were edited, articulations revised, the depth of the expression reaching new heights of excellence with every new orcehstral take – all under the talented baton of Harry Gregson-Williams. Back in the control room, the live playing combined with the pre-records […]

3 Christmas Crackers

As the year ends, it seems wholly appropriate as an ex-cathedral chorister to make a musical offering just as Christmas draws nigh. Three new cues are released tomorrow, three cues written for three impressive BBC departments. There are new resources here: new soundscaping VST instruments, new reverb FX, 3D stereo-imaging, plus new orchestral resources. Listen […]
