After two months of planning, the new audio system is now up and running. Designed and built by Carillon Audio Systems in London [ http://www.carillonac1.com/index.php ], its a massive upgrade in every sense! There’s a jump of six years for the music software, plus lightening access speeds from the new SSD disks. What’s really useful is that it sits alongside the older system allowing me to use either machine at any time. This means that I can work on new projects on the new machine or tweak older cues in the older environment (without all the importing issues).
The older machine will also serve as a back up system – giving vital peace of mind as I start writing the score for a landmark new series for BBC2 coming later this year! That began today…
