‘Does your library have any music that would work for Frank Sinatra?’ came the call from the director.
‘Not really’ was my initial reaction, although we were in the middle of recording a new 1950s Jazz Album. I suggested they send the fine cut over so my team could have a viewing.
It turns out that they needed music to support the life of this iconic figure: atmospheres, soundscapes, dramatic builds etc. We sync’d over 40 pieces and I’m delighted to report that almost all it made the final cut. Some if it also cascaded into Episodes 2 and 3. As well as evolving new hybrid soundscapes, you can here our string orchestra building the tension as Frank made a series of extraordinary life decisions.
